A long-term cooperation with AIESEC has allowed the Deutsche Telekom Group to share its international expertise with the next generation of corporate leaders while offering them an opportunity to see why Telekom is the best place to perform and grow.

Telekom can’t always dial up the best talent on its own, so sometimes it partners with groups and associations that attract eager students gearing to be the next talented experts and managers. A lengthy partnership with the AIESEC non-profit youth development organization has granted the company access to a global network of ambitious young people – and offered scores of them internships with a leader in information and communication technology.

Internships help the students zero in on the career and company that fits them best. They also provide those contemplating their careers the skills and knowledge they need for the fast-changing business environment. And AIESEC helps Telekom ensure its workplace and employees are as diverse as the markets it serves. The company has cooperated with the organization to offer internships for more than a decade in a variety of units including Deutsche Telekom Asia in Hong Kong, Slovak Telekom & T-Systems Slovakia, T-Systems Do Brazil and T-Systems France.

In Hungary, Telekom cooperates with AIESEC for career days as well as the regular Magyar Telekom Sustainability Day, where students learn about the economy, the environment and culture. The telecommunications and information company also participates in the organization’s NExT (National Excellence Training) educational program. In Croatia, the company acts as an AIESEC development partner to increase its interaction with young talent and help students get the most from the organization.

Telekom’s cooperation with AIESEC is especially strong in Germany, where the company participates in numerous local and national conferences and workshops. The company recently welcomed 20 AIESEC students for a day at its headquarters in Bonn. The students gained an inside view of Telekom’s Master Service Management Center where 100 employees use 60-square-meters of monitors to ensure its German cellular network is providing customers the best-possible service. They then visited its Mobile Test Facility where the future is today.

AIESEC’s Company Experience Day also offers Telekom an opportunity to tell students more about its innovative products and services. During the event, junior managers meet with AEISEC students to not only discuss the company in a casual atmosphere, but also tackle current social or political issues to get to know each other better. And Telekom even helps the non-profit financially as a member of its sponsorship board – it’s an investment in the future.
