Employee volunteering

A young woman laughs.

Commitment with success—we promote the personal dedication of our employees in numerous corporate volunteering projects.

From trainee to executive, the Group promotes the commitment of our employees on aid projects. Corporate volunteering is an expression of living responsibility at Deutsche Telekom.

Telekom even helps our employees find appropriate projects: the interactive platform engagement@telekom lets them search for volunteering options throughout Germany. Employees can also propose their own projects and ask for support. As part of our corporate giving program, Telekom employees can apply for monetary and other donations for charitable organizations where they volunteer. We support projects that follow the Telekom philosophy of acting responsibly in social and environmental matters.

"Experience the Internet—surfing together"
Telekom has supported "Experience the Internet—surfing together", a program by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, since 2010. It aims to help people to gain the skills they need to benefit from modern media. Ten initiative-related projects were selected in 2010 in the nationwide “Wege ins Netz” media skills competition. Many Telekom employees made a major contribution to this success through their personal commitments.

One day for people in need
Under the motto "One Day for People in Need", T-Mobile Czech Republic gives its employees one day off every year to volunteer in aid projects. In cooperation with the Donors Forum, projects that need help are introduced. In 2010, 600 out of a total 2,500 employees took up the offer and spent a day doing charitable work while still receiving full pay. Executives also took part in the action, helping with renovation work in Krkonoše National Park, for example.
