In addition to currently around 28.5 million fixed network lines (QI / 2009), some 13.3 million DSL lines have been activated in the Company’s networks in Germany alone – almost 11 million of those with existing customers. At the same time, the network is getting ever faster: speeds of up to 16 Mbit/s (ADSL2+) are available in around 1,000 German towns and cities. And in the 50 largest German cities, top speeds of up to 50 Mbit/s are possible thanks to VDSL.
This fast, broadband network forms the basis for traditional telephone and Internet services and is also the prerequisite for Entertain, T-Home's IPTV package, which offers a new television experience. The timeshift function and a hard disk recorder allow users to compile their own customized TV schedule. Furthermore, Entertain customers are provided with around 150 free and pay-TV stations, an online video library currently with around 2,600 titles, and a TV archive.
Thanks to the Deutsche Telekom Group’s new integrated product approach, Entertain customers can already access music files and photos through their televisions, as well as surf their favorite websites and even read their e-mails on the TV screen – all using the same operating logic, with the same look and feel as on the PC or on a growing number of mobile devices.
Entertain will offer soccer fans a special television experience from summer 2009, when Deutsche Telekom launches its exclusive "LIGA total" program, which will broadcast all games in the top two German soccer leagues.
Partner to business customers
Since the start of 2009, T-Home’s Business Customers division has also been serving some 160,000 small and medium-sized enterprises, offering them products and services tailored specially to business needs. The focus is on standardized telecommunications products and solutions.
Next Generation Company
For both consumers and business customers, T-Home always focuses on customer needs: In addition to the continued improvement of services (availability, quick provision of orders, adherence to deadlines), these needs also include the remodeling of the IT landscape and networks for the "Next Generation Company". The objective is a flexible and service-oriented network infrastructure which can cope with the ever increasing bandwidth requirements.
Always close to the customer
With over 1,800 points of sale, Deutsche Telekom currently has the largest sales network in the Company's history: 804 Telekom Shops and over 1,000 Deutsche Telekom partners are the points of contact for customers and offer the wide range of Deutsche Telekom's innovative telecommunications products.
