T-Mobile is the Deutsche Telekom AG Group’s mobile communications brand. There are currently more than 150 million customers in Germany, the rest of Europe and the United States who surf the mobile Internet (09/2009).
In line the Company's vision of "Connected life and work", the mobilization of personal social networking is at the heart of T-Mobile's corporate activities. With web’n’walk, for example, T-Mobile is a pioneer of mobile Internet use. This innovative service is based on outstanding network quality: T-Mobile stands for excellent network coverage and security, top voice quality and fast data connections.
With exclusive marketing of the Apple iPhone in many markets and the launch of the G1 "Internet cell phone", T-Mobile is providing crucial momentum for the increased use of the mobile Internet. The same applies for the successful marketing of notebooks and netbooks.
In T-Mobile’s home market, Germany, T-Mobile customers already benefit from the Deutsche Telekom Group’s increasingly integrated product portfolio, which enables standardized access to personal data like music, videos and addresses across all terminal equipment and which also provides for ever more integrated services on an increasing number of mobile devices.
Advances in new technologies
Around the globe, T-Mobile is considered to be one of the trendsetters for forward-looking technologies like GPRS and UMTS (3G). The same applies for wireless Internet access via W-LAN, which is possible on smartphones or laptops at more and more HotSpots. With almost 20,000 public access points around the world, Deutsche Telekom is one of the world’s largest providers of this service through its T-Mobile and T-Home brands.
Innovation and lifestyle
This becomes even clearer with mobile web surfing: T-Mobile was the first provider in Europe to give its customers open access to the Internet and thus offer them unrestricted access to the web. The range of news, films, music and infotainment available to customers is constantly growing.
International
International mobile communications has become a crucial growth driver for the Deutsche Telekom Group. The Company increased its presence in South-Eastern Europe in 2008 with its stake in the Greek company OTE. This latest commitment complements the Group’s international focus, with subsidiaries and majority shareholdings in the United States, the UK, Austria, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Poland (PTC), Hungary, Croatia and Slovakia, not to forget the affiliates in Macedonia and Montenegro.
