30 under 30s in the think tank

Aug 24, 2009

What will the working world of tomorrow look like? The initiative with the unusual name Palomar5 is designed to address this exciting question during a six-week creative camp. Deutsche Telekom is supporting the think tank.

The old Berlin Malzfabrik will become a think tank for six weeks.

The old Berlin Malzfabrik will become a think tank for six weeks.

The Palomar5 initiative will host a special innovation camp in the Berlin Malzfabrik (malt factory) from October 9 to November 24: For six weeks, 30 young people from a whole range of disciplines and countries will work together in order to develop innovative new work processes suited to the requirements and opportunities of the digital generation.

Apply right now

Lateral thinkers and creative minds aged between 18 and 30 years of age are invited to apply to take part in the initiative by August 31. How will future "digital generations" structure their working lives? How will they manage their daily working lives and in what way might this significantly influence business processes? These are the questions which Palomar5, the non-profit organization established in Berlin in 2009, will focus on. The aim is to develop new structures that meet the requirements and opportunities of the digital generation."The Internet has greatly changed the way we work, live and think. The generation currently entering the working world has completely different expectations, skills and resources to those of previous generations," explained Jonathan Imme, spokesman for Palomar5. "Using our unconventional format, we intend to find new, practical answers to the question of how we wish to work in the future. The current possibilities for communication and collaboration represent a genuine opportunity for us to make a difference out there in the real world."

Think tank with potential

Following six weeks in the think tank, a final meeting will be held, at which the ideas and projects will be presented to business representatives and, in some cases, implemented straight away. Initiators and sponsors are hoping for much innovative food for thought. The right atmosphere for creativity has been created: All costs for the event will be covered by the sponsors. Deutsche Telekom is the main sponsor of the think tank.

More information about this innovative project can be found on the Palomar5 homepage (www.palomar5.org) and on Twitter.
