The network of tomorrow
Deutsche Telekom offers a broad range of communication, entertainment and IT services from a single source. A powerful, integrated network is the basis of the infrastructure.
For Deutsche Telekom, integrated network strategy means
- Hybrid Access
- LTE upgrades (cellular technology)
- Fiber-optic upgrades (fixed network)
- Vectoring (fixed network)
The network of the future is an integrated, all-IP network. The future has begun.
"All IP" as the foundation
As early as the 2013 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Deutsche Telekom defined a landmark focus and emphasized the importance of fiber optic-based, all-IP networks. "All IP" (IP=Internet protocol) creates a standard infrastructure for all services and makes it possible to shut down legacy systems. "All IP" will help Deutsche Telekom manage the exponential growth in Internet traffic and represents the foundation for virtual companies, along with innovative products and services. Internet protocol is the technology of choice for the convergence of existing telecommunication networks.
Entirely new architecture
Homogeneous networks boost the bandwidth of data transmission. To this end, the Telekom Group has developed "TeraStream", an entirely new network architecture that allows significantly faster transmission speeds. In this approach, the network intelligence (the software to operate the network) is migrated to the cloud and controlled centrally from a data center.
One core network for all services
In conventional networks, the introduction of new services has been a cost-intensive process, due to the complex modifications needed. This all goes much faster in all-IP networks, with many features achievable at the touch of a button. A standardized network infrastructure, with a core network that can be used as a platform to supply all services, saves time and money.
Forerunner in Europe and worldwide
Internationally, Deutsche Telekom is a forerunner in this migration process. Macedonia is the first country in which the traditional telephone network is now history, succeeded by an all-IP network.
The objective is to link all of Deutsche Telekom's access technologies with one another intelligently, giving customers the best connection and the best network at all times - whether at home or out and about.
