- Par value share

Also: nominal amount or face value share. A par value share is expressed in a fixed nominal amount. The minimum nominal amount of a par value share is one euro. Higher par value stocks must be denominated in whole euro. With par value stocks, the share in the capital stock is determined by the proportion of its nominal amount to the capital stock.
