- Underlying security
-
The underlying security of a warrant can be any asset for which a market price may be established. In practice warrants are issued on shares, indices, bonds, currencies, interest rate futures and commodities. The issuer can reserve the right to a cash settlement which enables warrants to be issued on underlying securities that are not physically available on the market.
