Deutsche Telekom brings the pharmacy to the patient

  • Groundbreaking cooperation with mail-order pharmacy DocMorris
  • Pharmacists advise customers about medications and their use in live audiovisual communications

Deutsche Telekom is bringing the pharmacy to the patient thanks to its partnership with DocMorris. Customers of Europe's largest mail-order pharmacy will soon be able to get a pharmacist’s advice about medications and their use from the comfort of their couch by consulting a competent "live advisor". "We’re bringing personal online consulting to a new level with the live advi-sors," explains Dirk Backofen, Head of Business Customer Marketing at Telekom Deutschland. "Customers can receive information from the comfort and privacy of their homes. This is a milestone in the field of online business," he says. The linchpin of it all is a Web-based solution. Customers get in touch with an advisor via the DocMorris homepage and receive personal audiovisual advice in a familiar environment. Deutsche Telekom and DocMorris thereby help to improve pharmaceutical care for immobile people or ones in rural regions that lack medical infrastructures. "With the live advisors we’re able to create a face-to-face pharmaceutical consultation service that offers real value to our pharmacy customers. For example, helpful explanatory film inserts can be shown during the consultation," says Olaf Heinrich, CEO of DocMorris. "The DocMorris pharmacy comes to the patients in an interactive way, no matter when or where the customer needs our knowledge about medications and their treatments - it’s easy, customized and pharmaceutically competent," he explains. DT’s live advisor service is being used with DocMorris for the very first time. This communication tool gives users the opportunity to market highly sophisticated products online. Going forward, it will also be possible to use it in sectors like tourism, financial services, real estate, electronics and even online mail-order retail. Experience our products and services live at CeBIT from March 10 - 14 at the Deutsche Telekom stand in hall 4, stand C26. Deutsche Telekom's entire presence at the trade fair is carbon-neutral: All CO2 emissions generated in setting up and operating the stand are offset fully by carbon-reduction projects abroad.
