Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE: Deutsche Telekom brings the first LTE tablet computer onto the market

Deutsche Telekom is bringing the first tablet computer for the groundbreaking LTE (Long Term Evolution) mobile high-speed network to the German market. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE is scheduled for sale from December 2011 and will give customers the first tablet computer for fourth-generation (4G) mobile technology, with download bandwidths of up to 100 Mbit/s and up to 50 Mbit/s for uploads. The device comes with the latest Android 3.1 operating system installed and has a TFT multitouch display with a screen diagonal of almost 23 centimeters. Alongside LTE it also supports HSPA, WLAN and Bluetooth. One of the feature-rich tablet's two built-in cameras is used for video calls; video films can be watched in full HD quality. Additional features include a special graphics accelerator and the Adobe Flash Player, which guarantees optimal presentation of interactive and multimedia web content. The Android Market and Samsung Apps marketplace offer well over 120,000 apps from a huge range of sectors for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE. The device offers abundant space for apps, photos, videos and emails. With microSD cards, users can expand the internal 32-GB memory by up to another 32 GB. The powerful 1 GHz dual-core processor guarantees high speed in all applications, while the 6,100 mAh Li-Polymer battery gives users very long runtimes. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE comes in an impressively elegant and light design, with a weight of a mere 458 grams and a height of less than nine millimeters. The new Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE is scheduled to be available from Deutsche Telekom from December 2011 (subject to changes to device, equipment and model).
