Getting Started - Connected Work: Telekom launches DeutschlandLAN Connect

  • DeutschlandLAN Connect L now available
  • Symmetrical and fast 10Mbit/s IP Internet access
  • iMeet - meeting room from the cloud for up to 15 participants

Telekom is expanding its product portfolio with DeutschlandLAN Connect, a solution enabling connected work in small and medium-sized enterprises. At CeBIT this year Telekom is launching the larger product version, "DeutschlandLAN Connect L", which is designed for businesses at the larger end of the SME segment. "DeutschlandLAN Connect is our new entry-level solution for enterprises that have employees working at several sites who want to conduct internal online conferences or exchange information with customers," says Dirk Backofen, Head of Marketing for Business Customers, Telekom Deutschland GmbH. "Customers benefit from having a complete package from a single source: We deliver high-performance Internet connectivity in combination with a meeting solution from the cloud that is easy to use." The DeutschlandLAN Connect L package includes the high-speed IP CompanyConnect 10 M connection and iMeet, the online meeting room in the Telekom Cloud. CompanyConnect delivers symmetrical transmission rates of up to 10 Mbit/s around the clock. And thanks to Quality of Service (QoS), important data such as voice and video information is assigned a high priority in the network. The connection is the optimal basis for collaboration via iMeet in the cloud. Up to 15 employees, partners or customers can participate simultaneously in a virtual meeting online. The solution is easy to use: Colleagues, partners and customers are invited to the meeting via e-mail. You simply click on a link to set up a direct conference connection that includes your webcam - free of charge and without installing any additional software. This tool makes teamwork more convenient and can speed up projects in any business enterprise. The conference participants, regardless of their actual location, can share and view documents, business presentations or product videos. The DeutschlandLAN family is also growing: In addition to DeutschlandLAN Connect L, the versions S and M will be available sometime during the coming year. In these versions, Telekom will likewise deliver an IP network connection as well as a basic version of the iMeet online meeting room. Besides DeutschlandLAN Connect, Telekom also offers DeutschlandLAN Classic, a TÜV-certified complete package for fixed line, mobile and PC communication from the cloud. Telekom runs the telephone system, the e-mail server and the company address book in extremely secure data centers located in Germany, with services provided to customers via the Internet. Thus businesses can reduce costs because there is no need to invest in additional software or infrastructure hardware. What's more, working with virtual applications is more flexible. Telekom delivers all services at fixed monthly rates that include hardware and flat rates for telephony, Internet and mobile communications. This is based on a fast symmetrical 10 Mbit/s IP connection. Some 12,000 users in more than 2,000 business enterprises in Germany now rely on DeutschlandLAN Classic. Experience our products and services live at CeBIT from March 5 - 9 at the Deutsche Telekom stand in hall 4, stand C26. Deutsche Telekom's entire presence at the trade fair is carbon-neutral: All CO2 emissions generated in setting up and operating the stand are offset fully by carbon-reduction projects abroad.
