Focus on Cloud Services: T-Systems Named a Leader In Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Data Center Outsourcing and Utility Services, Europe

  • Focusing on transforming customers’ business with cloud services.
  • Customers expect pro-active driving of innovation and optimizing of systems.

In Gartner’s latest Magic Quadrant for Data Center Outsourcing (DCO) and Utility Services in Europe*, T-Systems is recognized as a leader. Evaluation was based on completeness of vision and the ability to execute. The new Magic Quadrant shows a major advance regarding T-Systems “completeness of vision” compared with the previous years’ Gartner report. "US providers lead in their ability to execute with locations around the world, we pursue a different path by investing in our ability to transform our customers’ business and delivering our services though cloud computing into regions where we have no geographical presence", explains Reinhard Clemens, Member of the Board Management at Deutsche Telekom and T-Systems CEO. “Our recent major deal with the elevator and escalator corporation KONE underlies our strategy.” According to Gartner analysis economic challenges and constraints on IT budgets continue to prompt industrialized infrastructure services, including cloud computing which has the impact that they help CIO’s meet major business priorities of delivering new business solutions while at the same time reducing IT costs. “If customers simply expect ‘mess for less’, then we are not the partner of choice”, says Clemens. “We focus on transitioning the customer’s ICT infrastructure and thus making impacts on their core business.” This seems to be in line with customer expectations who like service providers, such as T-Systems, to be even more proactive in driving innovation and in optimizing systems. * Magic Quadrant for Data Center Outsourcing and Infrastructure Utility Services, Europe/ G00239819/Claudio DaRold, Gianluca Tramacere, Frank Ridder, 18 July 2013 http://www.gartner.com/reprints/t-systems-annual-reprints?id=1-1HDQ4ZF&ct=130719&st=sb Gartner does not endorse any vendor, product or service depicted in its research publications, and does not advise technology users to select only those vendors with the highest ratings.
