T-Systems deepens partnership with SAP for running SAP HANA in the cloud

T-Systems, a Telekom subsidiary, today announced that it has deepened its partnership with SAP AG, a market leader in enterprise applications. The companies are planning to collaborate in the provisioning of and go-to-market-activities related to the SAP HANA platform and cloud solutions from SAP based on SAP HANA. SAP customers are expected to benefit from the competence and years of experience in cloud computing and data center infrastructures that T-Systems brings to the partnership. And T-Systems customers will be able to use its new offering "Dynamic Services for SAP HANA" which provides elasticity without investment required in IT infrastructure.

SAP HANA enables businesses to make smarter, faster decisions through real-time analysis and reporting combined with dramatically accelerated business processes. In January 2014, SAP announced the availability of SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA, a new option for customers using SAP Business Suite applications. SAP recently announced that it has crossed the 1,000-customer mark for SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA as already become one of the fastest-growing software applications in SAP’s history. The software helps companies across all industries drive their entire enterprise in real time so they can simulate, plan, execute, analyze and predict almost instantly along business-critical end-to-end processes.

According to a current study by Pierre Audoin Consultants (PAC), every fourth german business enterprise plans to deploy SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA over the next three years. Especially those enterprises with more than 1,000 employees are planning to adopt SAP HANA. However, the companies surveyed also indicated that the hardware investments required can be an obstacle to adoption of the solution. The deepened partnership between T-Systems and SAP will enable customers to conduct "proof-of-concept (POC) deployments" of SAP HANA to see how they can benefit from the solution before a full-scale implementation is begun. The POCs can cover an entire application landscape even for periods as short as one month.

"With us, our customers can dive easily and quickly in the new world related to SAP HANA. We provide IT departments a fast, cost-effective way to implement this technology and especially adaptable services", says Dr. Ferri Abolhassan, managing director of T-Systems. "As an SAP certified provider of Hosting Services for the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud, we have made major investments in the integration and operation of SAP HANA based solutions in the T-Systems Dynamic Services Cloud in recent months. Thus we can now offer benefits of SAP HANA, including real-time big data analytics in conjunction with SAP HANA performance to deliver the convenience and flexibility of the cloud for business environments - based on our high-performance and safe infrastructure."
