T-Systems bags orders worth millions for cloud services worldwide

The number of multinationals acquiring their data worldwide from the cloud and relying on dynamic solutions from T-Systems is on the rise. The major advantage for companies: they can order or cancel ICT services in line with their business development and requirements and only need to pay for products and services actually used. Even today, 80 percent of the Telekom subsidiary’s SAP business comes from the cloud.
"T-Systems sets standards for the worldwide delivery of cloud services. Our customers no longer focus only on the cost factor when it comes to information and communication technologies. An improved ICT infrastructure contributes toward enhancing the corporate value of a multinational," explains Reinhard Clemens, member of the Board of Management at Deutsche Telekom AG and T-Systems CEO.
T-Systems provides their new cloud customers services in the double-digit million euro range. What’s so special: the volume of cloud-based orders includes only the minimum purchase; the actual order volume per corporate customer is usually significantly greater.
Unobstructed view of the Sugarloaf despite the cloud
Brazilian insurance group Intermedica relies on cloud computing and now acquires 60 percent of its ICT services dynamically from T-Systems’ data centers. Since 2004, the Telekom subsidiary has been providing ICT services to the company which is among Brazil’s leading healthcare providers. In over 100 clinics, maternity centers, hospitals and emergency departments, more than 2.1 million members receive integrated healthcare services from Intermedica.
Ibero-American media group benefits from dynamic services
T-Systems also provides cloud services to PRISA Group, the largest media company in the Ibero-American market. T-Systems operates the global IT platform of the media organization and its online presence for digital information, training and entertainment content. The Telekom subsidiary also provides a 24/7 multilingual hotline for Internet users and PRISA employees. The PRISA Group owns several newspapers, radio and television stations as well as publishing houses on the Iberian Peninsula, in the U.S. and Latin America.
Glass production from the cloud
Consol, Africa’s largest producer of glass, relies on cloud services from T-Systems for their SAP infrastructure. Consol only pays for the computing and storage services it actually uses. The services required can therefore be adapted to the seasonal fluctuations that are typical of the glass production business. Consol has been benefiting from ICT services provided by T-Systems since 2005.
At the speed of sound into the cloud
Jet Aviation, the Swiss company for aviation logistics and aircraft maintenance, extended their contract with T-Systems by several years ahead of time. The Telekom subsidiary operates all SAP applications of Jet Aviation on its dynamic platform. The aviation service provider benefits worldwide from the computing power of T-Systems for just-in-time planning of their corporate resources for aircraft procurement, controlling, maintenance, repairs and equipment. Jet Aviation receives SAP services on demand and only pays for the computing and storage services it actually uses.
Spanish national postal service Correos orders dynamic cloud services from T-Systems
Correos, the Spanish national postal service, has recently ordered dynamic cloud-based SAP services from T-Systems. The four-year contract has a volume of around EUR 41 million. The Telekom subsidiary has been entrusted with the operation and modernization of existing SAP applications with the aim of harmonizing and consolidating the IT systems of Correos. By transferring its SAP operations to the cloud, Correos can keep adjusting its services in line with current business developments, only paying for what it actually requires.
