Cloud Security:
Flexible security from the cloud

Mar 05, 2012

  • Cloud-based data security for small and medium sized businesses (SMBs)
  • Reliably secure and protect company data against attack (e.g. viruses, malware, unauthorized access)
  • Available in the new TelekomCloud Business Marketplace from Deutsche Telekom

Deutsche Telekom presents the new one-stop Internet security solution 'Cloud Security' in cooperation with ClearPath Networks, at CeBIT 2012. This flexible, low-cost solution offers SMBs reliable protection against viruses and attacks from the Internet (e.g. malware filtering). It also prevents access to inappropriate web content (content filtering) and provides employees the ability to securely access their corporate data while giving administrators the ability to manage every remote user's access. Another special feature is that all the data traffic is filtered and cleaned, 'in the cloud', before it finds its way onto company premises. The solution will be available to purchase, on a flexible, pay-per-employee basis, via the TelekomCloud Business Marketplace.

With Cloud Security, companies no longer need to locally install and maintain multiple pieces of software on each workstation to handle complex firewall, VPN, Anti-Virus, Content Filtering & intrusion Detection software and systems; instead they can set-up an integrated protection system using easy-to-manage web filters and services from the cloud. Not only does this reduce IT hardware & software costs, but it also reduces administration and maintenance costs. The solution is managed via a central web interface. In addition, "Security out of the Cloud" frees up the company's lines, so that data traffic from the network is reduced and no local processing power is needed for virus scanning. It is also possible to connect and protect several company locations and multiple mobile devices to the Cloud Security solution via a simple, easy-to-use web interface.

Cloud Security offers SMBs the opportunity to cost effectively protect their company against attacks, to securely and flexibly interlink network locations & remote users with each other, and to protect their employees against malware, viruses and unacceptable content. All software updates run automatically, so that the software is up to date and reliably protect company data against attacks from the Internet at all times. Deutsche Telekom operates and hosts the system in certified, highly secure data centers in Germany. All data is transmitted via encrypted VPN connections - providing a highly secure environment to access the TelekomCloud.

ClearPath Networks, based in Los Angeles, USA, is the industry leader in the development of cloud-based network infrastructure and security platforms. Founded in 2002, the company's patented VSP platform line is utilized by over 3,000 customers in 60 countries including some of the world's largest telecommunications companies.

Experience our products and services live at CeBIT from March 6 - 10 at the Deutsche Telekom stand in hall 4, stand D26. Deutsche Telekom's entire presence at the trade fair is carbon-neutral: All CO2 emissions generated in setting up and operating the stand are offset fully by carbon-reduction projects abroad.
