Most attractive employer to pupils 2018

Deutsche Telekom is rated by market research institute trendence as one of the most attractive employers to students, and the number one in the telecommunications sector.

The trendence 2018 pupils barometer is based on a survey of around 20,000 pupils. Compared with 2017, our awareness ranking has risen from 38th to 34th place in the three-phase procedure used by trendence to rank Germany’s top employers. Interest in our company, coupled with our growing popularity over the last 10 years, is indicative of our positive image in the outside world among the younger target audience. And this being our highest score in 10 years is another testimony to this fact.

While we boasted a very high awareness ranking of 98 %, there is still scope to improve in the field of the target group’s intentions to apply to our company, and we are committed to doing so. Almost 40 % of those who are considering Deutsche Telekom an attractive employer right now apply for training and university degree positions – an above-average level compared with other companies.

In the target group of apprentices, our ranking was up 5 places on last year, from 32nd to 27th place. We also scored higher among pupils planning to apply for university degrees and cooperative study programs compared with last year.

The pupils covered by this survey are the future of the digital working world, and Deutsche Telekom is committed to investing in them. That is why our degree courses and cooperative study programs train more than 2,000 young people each year. As employers, we want to inspire young talents, work with them to shape the digital future, and offer them career opportunities. We want these pupils to maximize their potential, and that is why we offer high-quality courses which teach independent learning skills. Our trainers are trusted contact persons for our young talents, and are on hand to support, encourage and motivate them for the entire duration of the course. Our approach of accompanying the learning process encourages students to reflect on their real-life working experiences. College-learned theory is immediately linked to and reinforced by practical experience. We provide the pupils with active assistance and support them on their journey. The results underscore our success, and the positive response is indicative of our appeal to this young target group We are proud to say that we are sought-after employers.
