Your Tasks

We are looking for a new assistant controller to join our team in Utrecht!

As an assistant business controller you are jointly responsible for the financial management and providing of operational and all accounting activities for a certain vertical in our business operating model.

One of your core tasks is to provide good management information to ensure that business operations run optimally and to make adjustments where necessary. You look for the story behind the numbers. You provide :

  • Month-end activities and reporting of the financials of smaller accounts
  • Monthly account variations and align with the operations team
  • Proper revenue recognition and costing each month
  • Cost management
  • Purchase order approvals
  • Monthly forecasting
  • Ensures that all invoices to the customer are sent accurately and timely manner
  • Chases overdue AR in collaboration with the Operations team

You are also involved in optimizing and professionalizing the finance & control policy.

For this role we are looking for an ambitious, starting finance professional who wants to develop into an independent business controller in the coming years. You report to the Head of Finance and you‘ll support the senior business controller with larger accounts and supports during holidays and sickness

As an assistant business controller, you are part of the Finance & Controlling team in Utrecht, consisting of business controllers and Accounting experts.

Your Profile

What do we ask of you?

As one of the financial pivots of the organization you have a good dose of initiative, analytical skills, organizational sensitivity and time management skills. You work meticulously , take responsibility and a learning mindset.

You have

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Good command of Dutch and English spoken and written
  • Good command of German is a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP and affinity with other financial systems
  • Good knowledge of Excel with good analytic skills
  • Proficient in time management
  • Excellent ‘eye for detail’
  • Takes initiative, takes responsibility and is self-starter
  • Adapting to the situation so is therefore flexible
  • Customer centricity
