General
We are looking for a suitable candidate for the position of a Test Manager working in the context of a spatial data infrastructure (SDI). The candidate shall in general support our agile teams and our users with the definition, organization and execution of tests. 

Background
a. The SDI is currently usable in a pilot and some parts are still in development. The GoLive for a broad range of users (>1000) will by the beginning of 2020. The initial purpose for the development of the SDI was to support the fiber planning process of Deutsche Telekom AG (DTAG) as this process requires a huge amount of geospatial data and applications for end-users visualizing and analyzing geoinformation. Inside the SDI we are mainly dealing with the following high-level use cases from a business point of view:

i. Generation of surface information from aerial photos as well as terrestrial laser scan data and photos
ii. Provisioning of trenches potentially usable for the fiber planning process based on the surface information using cost-routing methodologies
iii. Provisioning of applications (web UIs) for users

  •  Web-based geographic information system needed for the process of planning and placing fibre-cabinets
  •  Catalogue for the available data and services needed for the planning process
  • UI for starting & monitoring the calculation of potential trenches

b. The SDI is deployed and running in the Open Telekom Cloud (OTC) making use of a sophisticated CI/CD-Chain and the concept of Infrastructure as Code.
c. The SDI is developed using agile methodologies - SCRUM and on an enterprise level SAFe. Currently, we do have three teams – Application, Data & system team.


Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all Test, Test Tools Development and configuration management activities
• Defining and writing test cases in order to cover the business requirements with tests.
• Organizing and conducting user acceptance tests.
• Design, review and Integrated all required test-types in our CI/CD-chain
• Set up of test scenarios with Jira Xray
• Manual execution of test cases when needed
• Writing integration tests and automate integration tests
• Support for developers regarding testing and testing requirements
• Defining the scope of testing within the context of each release / delivery
• Deploying and managing resources for testing.
• Applying the appropriate test measurements and metrics in the product and for the Testing Team
• Planning, deploying and managing the test effort for any given engagement.
• Define IT Projects Test Strategy to cater for various development methodologies.
• Ensure a high degree of test automation.
• Make use of appropriate testing tools and services (undertaking formal software / vendor selection where appropriate).
• Create Test Documentation templates to support test activities.
• Represent the testing work stream at IT Management meetings and Project stakeholder meetings.
• Provide cross project status updates to both IT and Business and resource schedules on a weekly basis.
• Performance reviews.
• Escalate issues or risks to the Head of IT Projects.
• Co-ordinate all testing tasks within team.
• Write and communicate clear and understandable defect reports.
• Collaborate in a cross-functional Agile team being familiar with principles and basic practices of Agile software development.
• Adapt existing testing experience and knowledge to Agile values and principles.
• Support the Agile team in planning test-related activities.

Skills / Requirements:
- Knowledge of both automated and manual software testing.
- Previous test management experience including proven supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong QA and software testing industry knowledge.
- Proven experience in software testing.
- Ability to work to agreed deadlines.
- Experience with coordination of people to complete tasks.
- ISTQB foundation level certificate.
- Telecommunications know-how.
- Basic knowledge of Atlassian tools (Jira, X-ray, Zephyr, Confluence, ...)

Salary
Minimum monthly salary is 1650€ brutto + variable part of salary + other financial benefits. The final basic wage component can be adjusted accordingly to individual skills and experience of selected candidate.

Salary
