The meeting on November 3, 2014 in Bonn aimed to bring together political and economic leaders to develop security strategies against threats from cyberspace and provide impetus for networked digital defense measures.

The hosts Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger, Chairman of the Munich Security Conference, and Timotheus Höttges, Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Telekom AG welcomed a range of high-ranking national and international guests. Keynotes were held by Brigitte Zypries (Parliamentary State Secretary, Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Federal Republic of Germany), Andy Müller-Maguhn (Geschäftsführer, Datenreisebüro) and Ashar Aziz (Founder, Vice Chairman of the Board and Chief Strategy Officer, FireEye).

Cybersecurity Summit for Kids

This year marks the first time that Deutsche Telekom is hosting the “Cyber Security Summit for Kids”. The event is specifically tailored to children and takes place in Bonn one day after the Cyber Security Summit. The company wants to do its part to ensure that children in grades four to six develop awareness for the opportunities and risks of consuming media. The children should leave the summit with the knowledge they need to act safely and responsibly in the world of modern communication technology and new communication services.
