Providing lesson content on the Internet for absent school students? Working together online on projects and papers? These are just two examples of how digital media can be put to productive use. Deutsche Telekom's Teachtoday initiative aims to raise awareness of just such projects among teachers, education staff, school students and parents, with its "Media sure! But secure." competition.
Participation is open to education staff who have carried out a project with children aged 9 to 12 in one of the two competition categories, "Learning with digital media" or "Safe media usage." The winning projects will be presented in depth on the Teachtoday website. The aim is to provide children and young people with the skills they need to enable them to act competently and securely online and on social media. The ability to navigate the digital world has become just as much of a key skill as reading, writing and arithmetic.
The winning projects will be selected by an expert jury and will also be presented at the Cyber Security Summit for Kids in Bonn in the fall. You can find further information and the application form here. The closing date for applications is September 15, 2015.
