#WirdEchtZeit: "Internet of Things" theme week

  • Press workshop on June 21 in Berlin for journalists and bloggers.
  • Follow #WirdEchtZeit on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
  • IoT ecosystem: Startups, partners, science.

The figure is impressive: A McKinsey study forecasts that the economic added value of the intelligent networking of devices and machines over the Internet will amount to up to 11 billion U.S. dollars by 2025. "So far, however, few companies are exploiting the opportunities of real-time solutions. We are now offering a simple and secure entry to digitization for all – from private users through to major corporations," said Anette Bronder, Managing Director of the Digital Division at T-Systems and responsible for the Internet of Things (IoT) in the Deutsche Telekom Group.

A different focus for each day of the theme week
How does the connected world of devices and machines work? What are the challenges that everyone has to overcome in connection with the Internet of Things? What advantages does IoT offer to private users and to companies? What are the technical components of digitization? Deutsche Telekom presents answers to these questions and many more in the theme week #WirdEchtZeit für IoT from June 20 to 24, 2016. In the Internet of Things Telekom Special and on social media under the hashtag #WirdEchtZeit, IoT experts will demonstrate using a broad spectrum of information in the form of text, videos, graphics and photos, how issues such as cloud computing, IT security, and data networks can be critical to success for the connected world.

IoT ecosystem: Startups, partners, science
Digitization cannot be achieved in isolation, that is why close cooperation between companies, the scientific world, the start-up scene, and IT partners is essential.
Deutsche Telekom is inviting journalists and bloggers to a press workshop at Hub:raum in Berlin on June 21, to show them part of the IoT ecosystem. Among other things, Anette Bronder, responsible for the Internet of Things at Deutsche Telekom, will present Deutsche Telekom's IoT strategy. Prof. Gesche Joost (Head of the Design Research Lab) will talk about smart fashion, Dr. Frank Schmidt (T-Systems) will shed some light on the subject of the smart city, and Dr.-Ing. Jens Lambrecht from T-Labs will discuss the development of industrial robotics. Two start-ups will present their business idea for the Internet of Things and the IoT showroom will have products and solutions to get hands on with and try out.
