KONE consolidates its SAP ERP system to T-Systems cloud

  • KONE consolidates its corporate SAP ERP systems under one roof
  • Dynamic SAP solutions from the T-Systems cloud

KONE, one of the global leaders in the elevator and escalator industry, has consolidating the SAP ERP systems it operates in Europe, the U.S. and Asia into just one global SAP system supporting KONES’s businesses worldwide. To make this possible, KONE's SAP ERP systems, previously distributed across two data centers in Europe and Asia, and with total computing power of 1.5 million SAPS, have been shifted into T-Systems' data center. Now, working on the basis of a dynamic SAP platform, T-Systems is providing KONE with globally unified, cloud-based SAP applications. The consolidation and cloud delivery simplifies the development, maintenance and operation of SAP solutions, enhance solution quality and facilitates the company-wide integration of new business projects.

"The single global high-performance SAP platform greatly enhances our flexibility and strengthens our ability to serve global business. And it enables us to implement innovations and new technology capabilities faster and more effectively. What is more – and this is a key aspect for us, as a sustainability leader in our industry – the centralization behind the new solution will further reduce our greenhouse gas emissions caused by IT systems", says Antti Koskelin, CIO of KONE.

T-Systems operates the world's largest cloud-based hosting platform for SAP. T-Systems now serves more than 3.5 million users, in a total of 500 companies, with SAP systems with total performance of 60 million SAPS. A total of 50 million SAPS of that performance, serving 2.5 million users, comes directly from the cloud.
