With the Speedphone 700, Deutsche Telekom is bringing a new top-quality DECT mobile handset to the market. The elegantly designed multi-talent has a backlit touch screen. The display shows 262,000 colors on an 8.1 cm screen diagonal, making the telephone's numerous functions easy and convenient to use. The Speedphone 700 offers many preset internet services, providing for instance for reading and answering emails directly on the mobile handset. The Speedphone 700 is designed for use with suitably equipped routers such as Telekom's Speedport W 723V and the new Speedport W 921V. The Speedphone 700 provides automatic information about new emails and accessible information services (RSS feeds). Internet services available to users of the Speedphone 700 include email, RSS feeds, phone directory and a personal online address book as well as Telekom’s Media Center and the Entertain Program Manager. The Speedphone 700 therefore makes it possible to access personal content such as photos in the Media Center; Entertain customers can even program their hard disk recorders via the mobile handset. It is also possible to browse the internet and listen to radio online with the Speedphone 700. WLAN technology guarantees speedy data exchange between the Speedphone and Speedport for all internet applications. The Speedphone 700 also features a micro USB port for headsets and a slot with microSD memory card. These are supplemented by functions such as hands-free, caller name display with a photo assigned to familiar numbers, call hold, toggle, call waiting and three-way conferencing. The phone provides proactive information on missed calls and messages on the VoiceBox, the free mailbox in Deutsche Telekom's fixed network. The cordless phone is equipped with an energy-efficient power supply unit to be run economically. A black and a white version of the Speedphone 700 will be available in Telekom Shops, the online shop on the internet site www.telekom.de as well as from Deutsche Telekom dealers from November 2011. Supplied by Telekom, the unit will cost EUR 149.99 or EUR 4.95 per month (in the first 24 months) as part of Telekom's end device service package.
