Business Marketplace: Telekom expands cloud platform for SME segment

  • Over 40 applications from more than 20 partners
  • Collaboration, security, project management and finances from the cloud
  • Box, an exclusive application for small enterprises

Telekom is expanding its Business Marketplace with more cloud applications for small and medium-sized enterprises. Currently over 40 applications from more than 20 partner providers are available from the marketplace platform. These include the virtual meeting room iMeet, Microsoft Office 365 or Box, an application for collaborating and sharing or storing files online. Symantec, one of the leading providers of IT solutions for security and backup in the cloud, is the latest partner to join Telekom's Business Marketplace. Since the cloud marketplace was launched in the summer of 2012, over 10,000 customers have subscribed to the platform. Telekom bundles a wide range of cloud applications from its partners in the Business Marketplace. Small and medium-sized enterprises can easily subscribe to applications that precisely meet their needs, with delivery from the cloud. Investments in new servers or software are no longer necessary. Telekom makes things easy for customers by assuming full end-to-end responsibility for the platform, acting as the main point of contact, and verifying the security of all offerings. All subscription services are listed with complete transparency on every customer invoice. Products can be tested free of charge for a period of 30 days. Security is a top priority for customers looking for cloud solutions in the SME segment - and that not only applies to data storage in extremely secure data centers. Therefore, complete protection for laptops, desktops, servers and other devices is absolutely essential. With that in mind, Telekom's Business Marketplace will offer two security solutions from the Symantec portfolio in the future. Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 2013 is a solution that can be installed within a few minutes. The program detects, eliminates and blocks viruses, worms, Trojans and malware. The security package for data and devices includes firewall and web browser protection, as well as USB device control. Symantec Backup Exec.cloud is a data security solution that provides secure, automated backups of PCs and servers without any need for additional hardware. Following the simple use case of storing data in the cloud, the trend is now clearly moving toward collaboration. Box, for example, is an application that makes collaboration much easier. Enterprises can use this application for making documents and files available online with high levels of security so that they can be processed by teams. Telekom is offering three editions of this application. "Box Groups" is available exclusively from Business Marketplace and is especially suited for use in small businesses or teams. Up to 12 users can collaborate together in the cloud. The application offers 100 gigabytes of virtual storage. In "Box Business", Telekom makes 1000 gigabytes of web space available. Up to 500 users can access this platform and store files there online. To address the needs of large corporate enterprises, Telekom offers "Box Enterprise". It provides the benefits of maximum flexibility with access to information form anywhere, on any device and with no limit to the number of users and storage capacity available. Tricia PIM from InfoAsset is also a new application that supports collaboration in teams and with customers. Users can monitor the status of projects at a glance and link up their tasks with information such as project wikis or online database entries. The collaboration and project software Projekta Relax is also a new addition to Business Marketplace. This application from Telekom’s partner BBL-Software GmbH supports the tracking of time and costs involved in all key projects and tasks, from start to finish. Easy entry functions also make project management for entire teams much more convenient. Business Marketplace now features several new applications that help enterprises keep their business processes under control. The application weClapp, which is also the name of the software provider, combines six different products in one package. The portfolio includes contract and project management, ERP, CRM, a help desk and a mobile device management solution. All modules are compatible and can be combined in various ways. Changes made in one module are automatically synchronized in all the others so that the latest information status is always available. SilverERP is an ERP system from the cloud especially designed for SMEs in business sectors such as retail, wholesale, chemicals, electronics, manufacturing and engineering. Telekom’s partner yQ-it GmbH offers a solution that enables customers to take care of many typical business processes - even when on the road or in the home office. iBROWS GmbH offers the online ERP software known as easySYS. Among the central functions included are billing and order management, along with customer and contact management. This solution also provides users with mobile access to their data. Another new product now being made available is FastBill software from FastBill GmbH. Enterprises can use this cloud software to create professional offers, invoices and payment reminders at the push of a button. What's more, receipts and bills can be recorded digitally with FastBill. This considerably reduces paper consumption. Good customer support is especially important for businesses in the SME segment. This is possible in the cloud with the new Business Marketplace application YourSupport from Telekom's partner IQUADRAT AG. The support platform is comprised of a knowledge database, a self-service portal and a ticket system. A completely new addition to the Business Marketplace is the productivity software for documents known as 1000° ePaper from 1000 DIGITAL GmbH. With this product static PDFs can be used to create multimedia catalogs, magazines and flyers from the cloud. Documents and publications can also be made available to mobile devices at a high level of security with the new solution PadCloud from Telekom's partner APG App Publishing GmbH. Sales documents, construction plans - you name it - with PadCloud any document can be delivered to and removed from the mobile devices of specified people by using a secure container app for effective document protection. This prevents documents from being copied or forwarded. The solution guarantees that the sender has maximum control over all documents.
