Swift, secure searching: Google and T-Systems cooperate

  • Business customers have access to Google Enterprise products
  • Google Search Appliance for company data centres
  • All data remain stored exclusively within the organisation

Google and the T-Systems subsidiary Multimedia Solutions (T-Systems MMS) are working together with immediate effect. The partnership allows T-Systems MMS to offer its customers Google Enterprise products, including Google Search Appliance. This is a box that can be integrated quickly and easily into a firm’s data center, meaning that all data remain stored within the organization itself. Employees are able to search the organization’s network with ease to find relevant information. Both sides benefit from the partnership: T-Systems MMS has access to sophisticated Google technologies, while Google can rely on a renowned service provider to take on the responsibility of integrating its products for business customers.

Organizations are having to contend with more and more data, various formats and different storage systems. The result of this is that information is only partially utilized, or even not at all, because it is not always clear to employees what information exists and where it can be found. The problem can be remedied by individual Enterprise Search solutions, such as those provided by T-Systems MMS via its partnership with Google, for example.

Google’s Enterprise Search significantly reduces the time and effort involved in searching and guarantees a high number of hits - thus boosting productivity and employee satisfaction. Individual searches are convenient and effective, as search requests and results lists are structured in a similar way to the well-known Google search. The first projects with customers are already under way, including with a provider of Unified Communications solutions.

"I am very happy with the partnership," said Rolf Werner, managing director at T-Systems MMS. "This key technology from Google is a significant addition to our portfolio. Enterprise Search enables targeted knowledge management, reduces the time and money spent on searches within organizations and promotes corporate success through informational added value. Employees are able to retain a clear overview even when handling unstructured data."
