  • Breakthrough in China's growth market

South China's Haikou-Meilan International Airport is updating its core systems with an industry solution from T-Systems. AODB (Airport Operational Database) and RMS (Resource Management System), developed by T-Systems, support airport’s daily operations and resource management. Haikou-Meilan International Airport is located in Hainan province and is among the country's top 20 airports.

T-Systems is also realizing an RMS to support the planning and management of all material and human resources at the Nanjing Lukou International Airport, located in eastern China. Nanjing has also been using an AODB solution from T-Systems since 2012.

The global growth in air travel is especially dynamic in the Asian region. China alone has 61 airports that serve more than one million passengers annually. In order to keep pace with steady growth in the passenger and freight segments, official state plans call for the construction and expansion of airports throughout China. At the same time, the digital revolution taking place in IT-supported air traffic control and airport management is an essential element for improving flight check-in processes, capacity utilization and precise airline scheduling.

“This  current success proves that we could convince in Chinese airport market –  as the first foreign provider. The intensification of our international business is starting to pay dividends," says Reinhard Clemens, CEO T-Systems and Board Member Deutsche Telekom. T-Systems has 30 years of industry experience in the airport sector and delivers innovative solutions and services to more than 40 major airports worldwide.

Quality and service are the decisive purchase criteria for corporate customers, coming even before price, a study conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers has revealed. T-Systems has invested heavily in recent years with the aim of achieving highly stable IT systems and reliable service provision. The TND Infratest customer satisfaction survey 2015 confirmed that this has paid off: T-Systems is in the major league of European ICT service providers with the most satisfied customers for the third time running.
