T-Systems wins big deal from RWE

  • RWE commissions service for 40,000 desktops

RWE IT has commissioned T-Systems with the workplace management service for the RWE group. The contract lasts for five years and provides workplace system management service by the Telekom subsidiary. This includes on-site user support and a central IT hotline. From February 2014, T-Systems will support around 40,000 RWE desktops in Europe. The award of these services to T-Systems means the energy provider will reduce its operating costs in this area by 30 percent. "We want to modernize and standardize our IT workplace management. This will reduce costs and provide us with more flexibility for our future business development," explains Michael Neff, Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the RWE group. "We are confident to have gained an experienced partner in T-Systems." RWE has used Deutsche Telekom's services for over 20 years now. “The energy sector is one of our key markets and has enormous future potential. The contract from RWE IT as a subsidiary of one of the leading energy providers in Europe is therefore an important milestone in our strategy,” explains Telekom Board member and T-Systems boss Reinhard Clemens.
