The Green Future Best Practice Award is presented in the categories: environmental (emission reductions), circularity and innovation/game changer. These are the award winning companies of the previous years.

Winners of 2024

  • Ericsson's Network Modernization for Climate Change (Category 1.1 – Scope 1&2 Reduction)
    The solution impressed with above-average CO2 reduction in grid operation. This will help Deutsche Telekom achieve its climate and energy efficiency targets.
  • Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability: (Category 1.2 – Scope 3 Reduction)
    Microsoft's solution to decarbonize via cloud solutions not only demonstrably reduces emissions in Deutsche Telekom's supply chain (so-called Scope 3 emissions), but also impressed with good business benefits. Compared to traditional data centers, the Microsoft Cloud is significantly more energy efficient.
  • Everphone (Category 2 – Circularity)
    Business customers rent devices instead of buying them and Everphone brings them into a 2nd or 3rd lifecycle. Through this innovative approach to a new business model, Everphone achieves impressive circular economy benefits such as an extended lifespan of the end devices, resource and energy savings as well as a refurbished quota of 98%.
  • Juniper’s Power Steering (Category 3 – Innovation / Potential Game Changer)
    The solution analyzes network utilization throughout the day and provides guidance on where capacity can be temporarily shut down without impacting the customer experience. The innovation project impressed with its potential for saving energy and improving network efficiency.

Winners of 2023

  • HPE - Precision liquid cooling of Datacenters
    HPE convinced with their approach to improving server efficiency and data center power usage effectiveness (PUE) to meet sustainability goals and optimize costs of operations.
  • Sagemcom - Renewable energy for production
    Sagemcom was awarded for installing solar panels at their factory in Tunisia. This is a direct step to green energy consumption in the supply chain and exactly the kind of action DT is looking for from suppliers.
  • Axxessio - Telekom Nachhaltigkeitsmanager
    The Telekom Nachhaltigkeitsmanager developed by Axxessio is a comprehensive software ecosystem designed to provide accessible tools which support companies in meeting their sustainability targets, driving positive change, and contributing to a greener future.
  • Arvato - High volume refurbishment of fixed line routers and media receivers
    Arvato’s approach to developing and implementing a distinctive refurbishment programme, has meant that over 1 million fixed line devices per year can be reused and resent to customers in Germany and Austria. This programme greatly impressed the judges and made Arvato a worthy winner.
  • DHL - Sustainability@DPDHL: Decarbonisation in post and parcel delivery
    DHL impressed with the climate-friendly shipping service provided by DPDHL for its letters and parcels, and also the transparency about the carbon emissions generated.
