- Telekom Deutschland has acquired a 100 percent stake in Goingsoft
- The medium-sized Austrian enterprise develops successful IT solutions for the hospitality and healthcare sectors
- Goingsoft will be operated in future as an independent subsidiary under the umbrella of Telekom Deutschland
Telekom Deutschland GmbH has acquired 100 percent of the shares in IT specialist Goingsoft GmbH. Based in St. Johann in Tyrol, the medium-sized company has successfully been developing and implementing IT solutions to provide fast and reliable Wi-Fi internet administration and infotainment systems specifically for the hospitality and healthcare industries. The business will continue to be run under independent management and to develop and commercialize its products under its own name – its management and staff will remain unchanged.
Goingsoft has been working in close partnership with Deutsche Telekom in the growth market of WiFi solutions for many years. “For us, the solutions produced by Goingsoft are an important building block within our portfolio in our efforts to drive on the digital revolution within the German SME community,” says Hagen Rickmann, Director for Business Customers at Telekom Deutschland.
The acquisition is also set to provide the Group with additional growth potential in the areas of professional Wi-Fi and multimedia solutions, and of integrated offerings involving networks, security and cloud services. “The transaction is a logical step, given the ongoing cooperation between us. We thought carefully about whether we should take this step before finally deciding to do so with complete conviction,” says Stefan Seiwald, a top manager at Goingsoft. Josef Adelsberger, another top manager at the company, adds that “through the acquisition we will be intensifying our collaboration with Deutsche Telekom. By coming together, we now have gained substantially more clout, allowing us to approach both the WiFi and the infotainment markets, including the TV market, more effectively.
Goingsoft employs about 40 people in Austria and Germany. Its more than 1000 customers include hotels, regional tourist initiatives, seminar and congress centers and camping sites, as well as hospitals, retirement homes, rehabilitation centers and spa facilities.
