The Ethisphere Institute, headquartered in Arizona, has named Telekom one of the world's most ethical companies 2018. Telekom immediately received this award, as the company participated in this survey for the first time. In Germany, Telekom is even the sole winner. With this award, Ethisphere honors outstanding achievements of companies with the highest ethical competence.

To belong to the „World’s most ethical companies 2018” is not a matter of course, but the result of the past few years, in which we have intensively dealt with value-based behavior in the Deutsche Telekom Group“, says Manuela Mackert, Telekoms Chief Compliance Officer.

Thomas Kremer, Telekom Board Member for Data Privacy, Legal Affairs and Compliance: „This award is really great and winners are not individuals, but the Telekom in whole. So it’s an award for all employees.“

The Ethisphere Institute is the global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices that fuel corporate character, marketplace trust and business success.

Since 2007 Ethisphere has honored the World’s Most Ethical Companies who recognize their critical role to influence and drive positive change in the business community and societies around the world and work to maximize their impact wherever possible, according to the Institute.

In 2018, in addition to Deutsche Telekom, the Ethisphere Institute also honored T-Mobile US and 133 other companies from 23 countries and 57 industries as '2018 World’s Most Ethical Companies'. Scores are generated in five key categories: ethics and compliance program (35 percent), corporate citizenship and responsibility (20 percent), culture of ethics (20 percent), governance (15 percent), and leadership, innovation and reputation (10 percent).
