Telekom showcases New Mobility at IAA 2017

  • Park and Joy app makes finding a parking spot easier
  • Digital Drive – the simple way to connect cars
  • Trade fair booth in the New Mobility World
IAA Vernetzte Mobilität

Deutsche Telekom is showcasing the digital mobility of the future at the International Motor Show (IAA). Smart parking and connected car solutions are being presented in the New Mobility World hall. "Smart connectivity is all around us, including in cars. We are combining our network infrastructure and cloud technology with brand-new digital services to create innovative solutions for cars and its environment," says Anette Bronder, Director of T-Systems’ Digital Division and Telekom Security.

Finding a parking spot made simple

The smart parking app Park and Joy from Deutsche Telekom makes it easy to find a parking spot: find, book, and pay – it's all done using the mobile app. The app displays available parking spots and navigates the driver directly to the one selected. The ticket is purchased with just two clicks, saving motorists time looking for small change and searching for the ticket payment machine. Park and Joy brings together municipalities, car park operators, and motorists on one single platform. Hamburg is the first city to roll out the new parking service and will be working with Telekom to install sensors in up to 11,000 parking spots. Other cities including Bonn, Dortmund, Moers, Duisburg and Darmstadt are also planning to implement smart parking together with Deutsche Telekom.

Digital Drive for all cars, new and old

Even owners of new and used cars with no connectivity can retrofit smart functions to their vehicles. The Digital Drive retrofit option transmits information on the vehicle's condition, location, and driving behavior direct to the user's smartphone. The car is connected via an adapter that plugs into the on-board diagnostics interface and a matching app. Users can also set up messages in the app, such as a warning when the vehicle is driven at high speeds. In addition to being available to consumers, the solution can also be used by car manufacturers, fleet operators, or car dealers who want to offer tailored services to their customers.

The Kroschke Group with its DAD Deutscher Auto Dienst (German Car Service) is among those companies already using the solution. DAD, a leading specialist for IT based management of vehicle fleets, uses Digital Drive for processing damages and managing fleets of rental cars.

Experience the mobility of the future

Digital Drive and Park and Joy are joined by further brand-new Telekom solutions for online car trading. Visitors can also find out about EU projects to develop technological standards for autonomous driving or logistics services. Deutsche Telekom is once again in the New Mobility World hall. Visitors can see the Deutsche Telekom booth in hall 3.1, booth C23 from September 14 to 17, 2017.
