After four exciting days, the Mobile World Congress has now closed its gates. Deutsche Telekom takes positive stock of the exhibition. More visitors were attracted to the stand than in the past year.
The new 5G communication standard, the Internet of Things, Smart City, augmented reality, drones and so much more. Additionally, a full house during the press conference at the stand during which German national goalkeeper Manual Neuer was connected live in what was the first-ever live demo of a broadband internet connection to an aircraft. And a stand that with its inspiring atmosphere and lighting effects really stood out from the others in the vicinity, which were mostly rather plain. What’s more: with our exhibition motto of “NOW. NEW. NEXT.”, we could show that for Deutsche Telekom innovation is not only about being a part of a trend, rather that it also provides practical, new solutions. Like the “City Pass”, which is based on blockchain technology and allows, for instance, citizens to conveniently pay for urban services like rental bikes or parking.
With all this, Deutsche Telekom attracted 20 per cent more visitors to the stand this year than in 2017. And with the many interactive exhibits it also managed to stimulate over 10,000 personal consultations. A great response could also be recorded from the media. Already by the second exhibition day, 1,300 articles were counted dealing with the company and its solutions. And via social media, 130 million people were reached.
“At the Mobile World Congress, we showed that Deutsche Telekom enables innovations for a digital society, already today,” summarizes Antje Hundhausen, Vice President Brand Experience of Deutsche Telekom. “We are delighted with the positive responses that we have received from international analysts, partners, and customers. The record number of visitors and consultations are also particularly pleasing. Together they confirm that we have really managed to inspire our visitors.”
