Prof. Jürgen Schmidhuber is considered the father of modern artificial intelligence (AI). He is Scientific Director of the Swiss Institute for Artificial Intelligence Research IDSIA (USI & SUPSI). The prize-winning deep neural networks created by his research groups at the Technical University of Munich and IDSIA revolutionized machine learning and AI, and are now available to billions of users through Google, Apple, Microsoft, IBM, Baidu, Amazon and numerous other companies. His groups were the first in the world to achieve superhuman visual pattern recognition, which is important among other things for cancer screening. Schmidhuber has been the recipient of several international awards. He is President of NNAISENSE, a company with the mission of marketing the first general-purpose artificial intelligences.
