Deutsche Telekom IT Solultion is searching a new colleague for our zVM/zLinux team team to manage and modernize the enterprise our Linux services. The candidate’s responsibilities will include Linux support duties, execution of projects to implement and upgrade software,and organisation of the daily duties of the team. .

Responsibilities

• Installation, testing, implementation, tuning of Enterprise Linux distributions (SLES, RHEL)
• Participate as a team member in projects that require changes or upgrades
• Support team to build up skillset, drive PoCs in the area Linux automation (SaltStack, Ansible), Middleware and Runtime services
• Assist in specifying new systems software configurations, as required, for installed and proposed systems.
• Organize daily life of the team, and support the competence leader in modernization activities
• Demonstrate a high level of initiative and attention to detail during daily operations

• 2-5 years of experience supporting enterprise Linux distribution on x86 or zArchitecture,
• 2-5 years experience installing, configuring, and implementing RHEL or SLES
• Linux automation experience (Ansible, SaltStack)
• Experience in infrastructure virtualization technologies (VM or cloud)
• Strong organisational skills
• High level of initiative and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Skills Preferred

• Experience in GitHUB, Kubernetes, Blockchain, PostgreSQL is a great advantage

Language:

• Intermediate level of english in written and verbal form
• German language skill is an advantage
