Die Ausstellung „I AM THE MOUTH“ (2017) mit Werken der Art Collection Telekom wird auf der Art Cologne über die Magenta VR App präsentiert.

At the 52nd Art Cologne (April 19-22), Art Collection Telekom is presenting a work by the multiple award-winning Polish artist Iza Tarasewicz at its booth (Passage 3/11, Entrance South). In addition, booth visitors can take a virtual tour through the I AM THE MOUTH exhibition using VR technology. This exhibition in Zagreb presented numerous works of the Telekom collection, which specializes in Eastern and Southern Europe, through the end of March. In addition, Deutsche Telekom is sponsoring the Art Cologne Award for New Positions once again this year. This development program gives young artists an opportunity to present their works to a broad public.

One of the newest works of art in Deutsche Telekom's collection is ONCE INFORMATION HAS PASSED INTO PROTEIN. At Art Cologne, sketches and models provide insights into the creative process of this work, which was developed specifically for Art Collection Telekom. The original installation hangs in the foyer of Deutsche Telekom's headquarters in Bonn. It is the starting point for a new guided art tour that introduces selected works in the collection to the employees and visitors.

The title of the artwork, ONCE INFORMATION HAS PASSED INTO PROTEIN, refers to a statement made by Francis Crick in 1958 concerning molecular biology. The hexagonal matrix structure, with copper elements and almost imperceptible motion, refers to current research regarding the storage and transmission of digital information in proteins. The basic concept is networking.

Iza Tarasewicz's works are characterized by a complex web of potential relationships, interactions, metamorphoses, and transformations. They are like snapshots that capture specific, unstable instants of a constantly changing organic structure.

Arena I and Turba Turbo are two other works by this young artist in Art Collection Telekom's inventory. Iza Tarasewicz won the Views Prize, the most important award for young Polish art, for her works in 2015. Turba Turbo was also shown at the Bienal de São Paulo and Arena I at the Gwangju Biennale, and was most recently exhibited as part of the Art Collection Telekom show I AM THE MOUTH at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb. This exhibition can still be seen as a VR tour.

VR app grants admission to I AM THE MOUTH exhibition

The Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb is one of the few major new museum buildings in Eastern and Southern Europe. It houses one of the most important collections of Yugoslavian art from the 1960s onwards. For Art Collection Telekom, the I AM THE MOUTH exhibition was also a sign of international recognition among academics and the museum scene for the quality of its collection to date. Around half the works from the fairly new Art Collection Telekom were presented.

A 360° video available in Deutsche Telekom's Magenta VR app opens the exhibition to art fans all over the world. Anyone can get to know part of Art Collection Telekom through their smartphones, with or without cardboard, using the 360° function or using VR goggles like Samsung Gear VR or Zeiss VR ONE.

Deutsche Telekom is very interested in making Art Collection Telekom available to a wide audience. In addition to the new access option via the VR app, the works are presented in exhibitions and within the company's buildings, preferably in publicly accessible locations. The collection can also be viewed by everyone on the website www.art-collection-telekom.com and through a special Art Collection Telekom app.
