DeutschlandLAN: Innovative all-inclusive package for connected work

  • All-inclusive solution with broadband connection and web-based applications for voice and data communication via fixed-line and wireless channels
  • Simple and convenient: end-to-end communication center for connected work at the office and on the go
  • Total control over your costs with numerous inclusive services for a fixed monthly fee

Premiere at CeBIT 2010: At the leading trade fair for information technology and telecommunications, Deutsche Telekom will present its new DeutschlandLAN offer, the web-based solution for all your business communication needs at the office and on the go. A standardized user interface acts as a communication center to integrate all communication channels such as telephony, e-mail, SMS and instant messaging for your connected work. The offer is based on a high-performance data connection and a wide selection of communication applications from the Net. The application portfolio includes services ranging from virtual PBX systems and Microsoft Hosted Exchange to an Internet platform for cross-location collaboration.

Whether at the office or on the go, small and medium-sized enterprises from all industries can work very flexibly and efficiently with DeutschlandLAN. To help them do so, the solution makes the company address book available almost anywhere and at any time via the Net. The solution also provides distinct price transparency. Almost all services including hardware are included in the monthly flat fee. During the DeutschlandLAN introductory period, Deutsche Telekom is offering an especially attractive all-inclusive package for connecting up to five workstations.

"With DeutschlandLAN, we've added another element to our portfolio for connected work," says Dirk Backofen, head of Business Customer Marketing at Deutsche Telekom. "For the first time, the offer integrates wireless and fixed line in a homogenous user interface and provides all of the necessary applications via the Net as well." Companies can use DeutschlandLAN to manage all of their communication, for a simple, attractive price without having to invest in hardware and software. The basic version of DeutschlandLAN will be available during the course of April 2010. Deutsche Telekom will expand the offer over the next few months by including additional innovative features and services.

The central component of DeutschlandLAN is a symmetrical Internet connection with a transmission rate of 10 megabits per second (Mbit/s) for voice and data communication. Thanks to quality of service functionality, voice traffic is prioritized. This guarantees high-quality, reliable connections. The offer comes with up to 20 voice channels and eight assigned IP addresses. You can also request a firewall for your connection; Deutsche Telekom will initially provide the firewall free of charge. Before setting up DeutschlandLAN, Deutsche Telekom makes sure the customer network is VoIP-enabled and checks to see if there are any security deficits in the network.

The most important web-based services, which are hosted at Deutsche Telekom's high security data center, include a virtual PBX, a communication center for connected work, an Exchange mail server and a central address book. DeutschlandLAN comes with an IP Desk Phone SNOM 320, a PC client for the communication center with an e-mail box, and applications for conferencing, indicating the user’s online status and instant messaging for each integrated office workstation. The DeutschlandLAN mobile component is a business cell phone with a special client for the communication center including online status management, access to the company address book and - depending on your cell phone - an instant messaging feature. Cell phones are offered at a subsidized price. Business customers have the option of ordering additional services such as a LAN (local area network) or a cross-location VPN (virtual private network).

In addition to the data connection, the DeutschlandLAN starter package comes with products and services from the Net for five users. The monthly fee includes all data connections via the fixed-network line, all fixed-line calls within Germany and all calls to German mobile networks (both not including service and special phone numbers).

The T-Mobile Combi Flat S Business calling plan is included for connected cell phones. This plan includes a flat rate for all company-internal calls in Germany. This flat rate also covers calls to numbers within the PBX systems incorporated in DeutschlandLAN as well as calls to fixed-line and mobile numbers of other companies that use DeutschlandLAN. The solution comes with a mobile data transmission volume of 200 MB.

During the introductory period, the DeutschlandLAN starter package for five workstations costs EUR 495.00 per month net. Customers who want to integrate more employees into their DeutschlandLAN can order additional workstations at a scaled rate. From the 21st workstation upwards, mobile and fixed-network workstations can be incorporated individually in the PBX from the Net at low prices. During the introductory period there are no provision charges and you will receive five Nokia E72 Business cell phones with a full QWERTZ keypad free of charge. This introductory offer expires on August 31, 2010. After that, the net monthly price for the starter package with five workstations (fixed and mobile) will be EUR 695 plus provision charges.
