HappyDigits: Deutsche Telekom's attractive customer bonus program
Collecting digits (bonus points) while using your home phone, surfing the Internet or using your mobile could not be simpler - Attractive gifts on offer for HappyDigits collectors - Cooperation with strong partners Under the slogan "On your digits - get set - go!", Deutsche Telekom customers have been collecting bonus points since last fall and exchanging them for attractive gifts. Participation in the HappyDigits scheme is free of charge and entails no obligation whatsoever.
Collecting digits is both simple and convenient - whether you are making a call using the fixed network or a T-D1 mobile, recharging an XtraCard, recommending a new customer for T-Online or making a purchase at a T-Punkt shop, your account is automatically credited with bonus points. For every euro of turnover generated, one digit is automatically credited to the member's personal HappyDigits account. The digits can be redeemed in exchange for gifts selected from four different categories: Fun, Sport, High-Tech and Kids & Family. The range of gifts covers gifts-in-kind, T-Com terminals, T-D1 XtraPacs or the very latest items from the Team Telekom Fanshop as well as events such as concert tickets or a beauty & wellness weekend.
To participate in the new Deutsche Telekom customer program, customers can register either via the Internet at www.happydigits.de, e-mail their details, join by telephone on 0800 33 01200, or sign up at one of the five hundred or so T-Punkt shops. Points can also be accumulated as part of Internet promotions and competitions. Every six months, HappyDigits customers receive a virtual lottery ticket that allows them to take part in a HappyDigits online draw. The scheme has proven so successful that it recently produced its first HappyDigits millionaires.
At the beginning of the year, Deutsche Telekom welcomed on board KarstadtQuelle AG as its first strategic HappyDigits partner. Both Groups are participating in the program with their respective subsidiaries, among them T-Online, T-Mobile Deutschland, Karstadt, Neckermann and Quelle. Deutsche Telekom successfully launched HappyDigits back in October and KarstadtQuelle AG will start integrating its existing customer cards in the second quarter of this year. The company will then also award HappyDigits points on any purchases made.
Additional partnerships are to follow in the near future. Intensive negotiations are currently underway with companies from various sectors who have expressed an interest. Those responsible for the scheme are also evaluating which of the other interested parties best complement the HappyDigits portfolio. The aim behind HappyDigits is to use the card across a variety of sectors that encompass most of a consumer's daily life. This means that if customers purchase goods or services in whatever sector, they should in future have access to a range of products from a HappyDigits partner. Internet shopping will play a major part in this venture. On the whole it will be possible to pool HappyDigits bonus points from various sectors and different customers. Due to the larger quantities of bonus points, card holders will be able to accumulate more attractive gifts in less time. What is more, in future customers will also be able to select from a wider range of goods.
The new scheme will be run by Customer Advantage Programm GmbH (CAP). The company, owned by Deutsche Telekom (51 percent) and KarstadtQuelle (49 percent), has the task of developing and implementing an integrated holistic sales and marketing concept under the HappyDigits brand and to manage the bonus points and gift system. Once HappyDigits is up-and-running in Germany, it will be gradually rolled out worldwide.
