The Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck is celebrating its tenth year with an anniversary exhibition of the works of Henry Moore. From May 28, 2017 until January 7, 2018, it will be exhibiting monumental sculptures and statues by the most important sculptor of the modern era. The works will be shown in the museum's Richard Meier Building and on its forecourt area.  As part of its activities related to the anniversary year, Deutsche Telekom, the exhibition sponsor, is organizing a range of art and media skills workshops.

Skills for a connected society

Getting new ideas and new impetus, and expanding your skill set: this is the concept behind the workshops in this anniversary year. The workshops will teach art and media skills, in keeping with the aim of promoting the development of an informed and connected society. "Deutsche Telekom offers users platforms for communication and dialog – and this year we are also doing that in the Arp Museum," said Stephan Althoff, Head of Sponsorship at Deutsche Telekom. "The Arp Museum provides an ideal exhibition space for Moore's monumental sculptures, and it is a great partner for teaching skills in media use. With our effort, we are thus helping to create a space for encounters, inspiration and sharing."

Workshops in partnership with the Arp Museum

In partnership with the art education program of the Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck, Deutsche Telekom is offering a range of workshops, for adults and children, in connection with the exhibition. The program includes such subjects as figure drawing, stop-motion film, and photo stories created with a smartphone app. In the practical exercises, participants learn digital media skills by creating their own interpretations of the works of Henry Moore. Heike Henze Bange, Head of Art Education at the Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck, explained that "through our seminars, we offer children and adults the opportunity not only to learn about art, but also to create it themselves. With the aid of modern media such as photo and film apps, they produce new artistic interpretations, stagings and documentation of their own workshop results, in the context of the exhibition "Henry Moore – Vision. Creation. Obsession."
