Magyar Telekom wins Best Workplace Award

Magyar Telekom was ranked among the top three in the large company category, thus winning a Best Workplace Award as a result of the Hewitt-Világgazdaság Best Workplace Survey 2009. The largest Hungarian telecommunication provider was ranked 3rd in the category of companies employing more than 1000 people on the basis of the results of the employee satisfaction survey, conducted in close to 150 Hungarian companies. As one of the "Top 3", the company is entitled to use the Best Workplace title for three years.

It was the ninth such joint survey conducted by Hewitt and Világgazdaság, aimed at identifying the companies that are most liked by their employees in Hungary. On the basis of the results obtained by this year's survey, which covered close to 150 companies' 30,000 employees and 700 senior managers, companies could win the Best Workplace Award in three categories: companies with less than 250, between 250 and 1000, or more than 1000 employees. In the large company category, which was introduced this year, Magyar Telekom was ranked as one of the three companies that may use the title, reflecting the employees' satisfaction and commitment, for three years.

Commenting on the Best Workplace Award, Magyar Telekom's Chairman-CEO, Christopher Mattheisen stressed: "I am very pleased by the fact that Magyar Telekom won the Best Workplace Award. Especially since the award is based on our employees' feedback, and shows that Telekom people are a lot more committed to their workplace, Magyar Telekom, than the average employee in Hungary. Magyar Telekom pursues its business in one of the most exciting and most successful industries where employees face new challenges every day. Our goal is for Magyar Telekom to be a great place to perform, as opposed to a place to simply work for. To achieve this goal, we empower all members of our team, enabling them to work as independently and responsibly as possible. Since we wish to be the best together as a team, joint success makes all of us proud, and encourages us to do even more, as well as to respect each other. In return for their commitment and performance, Telekom employees are rewarded with competitive salaries and a range of fringe benefits unique in Hungary. We continue to do everything within our power to make Magyar Telekom a likable and livable workplace and to retain its prestigious position among Hungary's most attractive employers."

In addition to being an attractive employer, Magyar Telekom is also a responsible employer, and has been granted several awards for its efforts made in this context.

The Family-friendly Workplace Award 2008 recognized Magyar Telekom's achievements in the context of promoting work-life balance.

The 3rd place won in the Heart-friendly Workplace contest proves that Magyar Telekom feels responsible for the health of its employees.

At the Most Desired Company 2008 survey, Magyar Telekom was ranked 10th by final-year day students of technical studies, and 17th by economics students. As an employer committed to equal opportunities, Magyar Telekom supports new graduates through its internship program.
