New rates for calls to Deutsche Telekom's International Directory Inquiry Service number 11834 have come into effect as of today. Effective immediately, all calls are charged at 20-second intervals. Regardless of time, the price per billing interval is DM 1.089 or EUR 0.557. So far, customers had been charged a one-time fee of DM 0.968; subsequently, there was a charge of DM 0.121 for every 3.8 seconds. Also effective immediately, the forwarding service to the most important European countries and the US is possible without extra costs versus self-dialling. Having answered some 323 million inquiries in 1999, Deutsche Telekom is the leading directory inquiry service provider in the German market.
