Windows Phone 7: Deutsche Telekom and Microsoft have joined forces in Germany

Deutsche Telekom and Microsoft have entered into a strategic partnership to jointly market Windows Phone 7 in Germany. Initially, Deutsche Telekom will offer customers the two Windows Phone 7 devices HTC 7 Mozart and Samsung Omnia 7. The two corporations will also implement comprehensive joint advertising and promotion activities to market the new smartphones across Germany. "In Microsoft we have found a strong partner who has been one of the leading innovation drivers in its industry for decades. With Windows Phone 7 we are now opening the window to a new, user-friendly world of smartphone operating systems," says a delighted Niek Jan van Damme, Member of the Board Germany, Deutsche Telekom. Initially, Deutsche Telekom will include two Windows Phone 7 models in its portfolio - HTC 7 Mozart and Samsung Omnia 7. "Deutsche Telekom is a strategic partner for Windows Phone 7 in the German market. We are certain that the new Windows Phone 7 devices in combination with Deutsche Telekom's comprehensive quality services will convince customers very quickly," explains Achim Berg, Corporate Vice President, Mobile Communications Business and Marketing Group at the Microsoft Corporation. Microsoft and Deutsche Telekom are implementing advertising and promotion activities across Germany which started at the beginning of October 2010. "During the strong sales period in the run-up to Christmas, in particular, we will intensify market communication online and offline with regard to the new Windows Phone 7 devices," said Dr. Dorothee Ritz, General Manager Consumer & Online, Microsoft Deutschland. "Together with Deutsche Telekom we are able to optimally reach our target groups and whet their appetite for the new Windows Phone 7 smartphones."

Experience Windows Phone 7 - in Germany’s best mobile network With the HTC 7 Mozart model, Deutsche Telekom as the innovation leader for mobile Internet exclusively offers a high-quality smartphone with Microsoft's new mobile operating system. With one of the favorable Complete Mobile rate plans of Deutsche Telekom, anyone can experience the benefits of Window Phone 7 in Germany's best mobile network (CHIP Online 09/10). Besides this, exclusive services are already pre-installed for all Deutsche Telekom customers: The TopApps application quickly and conveniently recommends current, particularly interesting and useful applications to the user. With the media center, users can access photos or videos, for example, via different screens such as TV, PC or the Windows Phone. MobileTV is also offered to customers on the Windows phone - in the Basic or LIGA total! option. This package contains information, soccer and entertainment. In addition, the "Navigon select Telekom Edition" navigation application ensures that users always know where they are - free of charge over the entire contract term. Well thought-out design and useful innovations Windows Phone 7 impresses with its excellent ease of use, high level of stability and security and its innovative and user-friendly design. User navigation is based on a new design and reflects how users work, act and communicate: so-called hubs (such as contacts, photos, games) bundle applications, contents and the Internet into useful topic areas and help users to efficiently and logically organize their work and private life. In this way, the user is always up-to-date with the dynamic homepage and has everything under control through the hubs.
