Business Development Manager – Inside Sales

Job brief

We are looking for a Business Development Manager / expert on sales for new business to increase Deutsche Telekom’s mobile footprint in Europe and the US. This exciting task promises a mix of:
1.    Screening for potential new mobile business
2.    Creating a sales funnel (from validating whitespots, to generating leads and opportunities) and 
3.    Executing on specific opportunities by leading international sales projects (understanding customer requests, defining the sales strategy, closely aligning with dedicated bid managers and all relevant internal stakeholders, serve as single point of contact to the customer)

Your Attitude and Tasks

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager (m/f/d), who is self- motivated and will help us drive new mobile business internationally across all our DT national companies in Europe and the US.

Being self-driven, taking ownership & responsibility of tasks (end-to-end) and having a hunting-mentality in terms of creating new business are key to becoming successful in this sales role. Furthermore you actively contribute to a trusting team mentality by showing your intercultural skills and your dedication for team results and by openly giving and receiving feedback.

Your tasks:

  • As a “sales hunter” for new business you have the ability to screen market research and internal research data and to use this data to approach potential leads via phone and digital media (e.g. Email, Linked-In Sales Navigator)
  • You will generate leads by creating a trustful relationship to all Deutsche Telekom NatCos (DT/T-Mobile National Companies) in the various countries
  • Additionally you will closely align with all Freemove operators on sales and bid management level to validate international opportunities beyond DT’s mobile footprint
  • Overall management of the complete sales cycle / funnel management from a business development point view: from prospecting of potentially new mobile customers to validating leads, converting those leads into valuable opportunities and closing of deals
  • As a project manager for multi-country bids you will be responsible to coordinate international offers jointly with a dedicated bid manager and with all sales specialists in the DT NatCos & Freemove countries
  • Since our philosophy is “one face to the customer” you will serve as single point of contact (for centralized clients) until the contract is signed – then you will hand-over the projects to the in-live responsibles

    Qualifications, experience

    • You possess a degree in business administration (ideally with a focus on sales & marketing)
    • At least 3 years of professional experience in the area of international sales and / or (new) business development
    • Demonstrated ability to assess customer requirements, identify business problems and show proposed solutions
    • Willingness to take over responsibility in client projects as project lead 
    • Proficient English skills on negotiation level and in a persuasive, sales-oriented mode – German language skills are of advantage
    • Excellent communication skills and empathy at multicultural level
    • Reliable and customer centric, good decision-making abilities
    • Sound analytical competence 
    • Confident use of MS Office 
    • Self-driven and able to work on your own initiative
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively to keep an eye on multiple customer accounts
    • Be able to communicate at a senior level is an advantage
    • Cooperative and positive attitude in an international team setting to achieve common goals and to actively contribute to positive team morale through openness and integrity
