Job description

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Finance Manager who will play a significant part in developing and driving the business forward, through complex outsourcing business opportunities greater than 20m€ ("Complex Outsourcing Business"), by the facilitation of sales activities across the globe, from bid stage through to contract signature and with a transition to in life management.

The Finance & Controlling-Complex Deals is the central instance for the comprehensive economic valuation and commercial responsibility of 20m€+ Deals within T-Systems. F&C-CD contributes - by taking over the commercial responsibility in Complex Deals during the Pre-Sales Phase - significantly to the success of the corporation and has a material influence on market success and profitability of T-Systems and Deutsche Telekom AG.

Financial Responsibility

  • Finance Manager in complex outsourcing sales projects across Europe or even outside Europe
  • Finance project lead / support in deals with a Total Contract Value greater than 20m €
  • Responsible in deals for business case development, risk assessment (including mitigation) and drafting and negotiation of associated contracts and contract schedules.

Key Accountabilities

  • Drive the commercial strategy and solution on large deal pursuits
  • Financial consulting, providing and securing deal transparency for regional management and decision makers
  • Preparation and quality assurance of business cases
  • Evaluation and determination of the commercial terms & conditions of an outsourcing contract
  • Support of deal approval by the respective management boards
  • Ensuring consideration of commercial guidelines, financial hurdle rates and adequate risk assessment

Key Challenges & Complexity

  • Generation of a comprehensive commercial deal view for the management decision boards in cooperation with the leadership team of Finance & Controlling Complex Deals
  • Overall business case responsibility
  • Analysis of cost efficiency and risk, including possible actions to mitigate risks in business model
  • Release of the commercial terms & conditions
  • Ensure T-Systems financial standards adhere to

Power of Decision

  • Determination of business case model, including calculation guideline and business case scenarios
  • Responsible to determine the risks to be included in the deal calculation
  • Propose, check or validate all commercial contract clauses with their particularities

Job requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience as commercial project manager from a financial and commercial perspective
  • Work experience in international deals / multinational environment
  • Experience leading customer facing negotiations and meetings, both during the pre sales phase and negotiation phase
  • Exhibiting tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive customer issues
  • Comprehensive know-how in valuation and financial modelling
  • Excellent organisation skills and ability to handle many tasks simultaneously, and in a pressurised environment;
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a desire to build, develop and sustain effective business relationships
  • Legal and statutory financial skills
  • Worldwide mobility (on project level) is precondition
  • High computer proficiency: Microsoft Office
  • English business fluent (written and spoken) is key qualification; Spanish (desired); German (is an advantage)
