Your Tasks
In your role as Project Manager (m/f/d) IT Optimized sourcing, you are acting as strategic IT contact for Optimized Sourcing initiatives as part of EU IT Strategy in EU Segment, responsible for stakeholder management in this area, in particular at management level, acting as first port of call for strategic IT topics, providing advice and support with regard to: IT Insourcing/Outsourcing strategies, Off-shore sourcing governance, re/up-skilling approaches for IT organization and Optimizing license cost for 3rd party products/solutions. Managing the portfolio of initiatives at high level, holding responsibility for devising solutions for complex initiatives, supporting NatCos in defining local Optimized Sourcing strategies and plans, including making recommendations on prioritization, carrying out cost-effectiveness analyses, monitoring the implementation of initiatives, communicating and transferring information to all stakeholders, incl. top management and managing escalations in the area of EU IT Strategy - Optimized Sourcing.
Main responsibility/tasks cover following:
- Managing complex, strategically aligned projects/initiatives or managing subprojects as part of strategic programs
- Determining the approach for a project and defining clear responsibilities within the project (or project portfolio)
- Functionally leading project staff
- Planning and coordinating project resources in line with functional requirements and initiative(s) scope
- Budgeting and planning as well as regular updates
- Target group-specific communications (project sponsor, project team members)
- Evaluating, communicating, and mitigating risks incurred
- Initiating improvements to optimize processes, activities, and systems
Your Profile
You have a degree or comparable professional training with a corresponding field of study or subject-specific additional training or several years of professional experience in the project management environment.
Furthermore, you are characterised by detailed company-specific knowledge or exceptional special knowledge as well as skills:
- Very good experience in classical and agile forms of cooperation.
- Outstanding experience in the management of strategically oriented projects
- Extensive knowledge of the market, technology and competitor environment in the information technology and telecommunications industry, including digital transformation
- Very good analytical and conceptual skills
- Very good experience as a project manager or sub-project manager in planning, preferably in an agile environment
- Detailed know-how in the use of agile methods such as SCRUM and Lean
- Minimum of 7 years track record in a large, multi-national organization with an emphasis on managing parties in respective area
- Execution experience in a large-scale Telco organization
- Proven track record in a similar position, supported by management and customer references
- Experience in managing “Optimized sourcing” initiatives
- Strong track record leading a (virtual) team
- Extensive knowledge of Telecommunication industry, market, trends, technologies, sourcing and key players
- Pragmatic - balanced approach to management combining strategic planning, operational excellence and flawless execution
- Consensus-building -> capable of utilizing strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation and writing skills to successfully interact with subordinates, colleagues and executive management
- Overcoming barriers - track record as a leader with high business impact, strong negotiation skills, as well as sound diplomatic skills, smart and nice
- Results Driven - confident, thrives on hard work and consistent challenge. Monitors quantitative progress measures and acts quickly on deviations from plan.
