Thomas Tschersich, Diploma in engineering (University of Applied Sciences), is Chief Security Officer (CSO) at Deutsche Telekom AG. In this role, he is responsible for cyber security as well as all operational security issues at Deutsche Telekom. Thomas Tschersich is also Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Telekom Security.

Tschersich, born in 1969, is chairman of the Board of Management at Deutschland sicher im Netz and is active in numerous advisory functions, including membership of the Cyber Security Council, the UP Kritis Council and the Advisory board of ENISA

Tschersich started his career in 1986 as an apprentice as a telecommunications technician at Deutsche Bundespost Telekom, which he followed with a degree in electrical power engineering (University of Applied Sciences) in Dortmund. Tschersich has more than 25 years of experience in (cyber) security and has held various management positions at Deutsche Telekom since 1995. 

As a manager, he founded and developed the Network Security team at DeTeCSM in 2001, among other things, and subsequently headed the Security Strategy and Policy department at Group Headquarters. From 2007 to 2009, he built up the Technical Security Services unit and then the Group IT Security unit. As Chief Security Officer of the Deutsche Telekom Group, he has headed the Group Security Services unit since 2014. Since 2017, he has also been responsible for Internal Security & Cyber Defense at Telekom Security and was appointed CSO of Deutsche Telekom AG in 2019. In 2020, he took on the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the newly founded Deutsche Telekom Security GmbH.
