T-Systems Brazil wins Mercedes-Benz Award

T-Systems Brazil, a German provider with a broad digital portfolio of IT solutions and services, received the “Prêmio Interação” (or Interaction Award, in English) in the Performance in Services category. Since 1992, the award is granted by Mercedes-Benz to its best suppliers in several categories.

T-Systems had already won the award in 2009 in the category of Indirect Purchases and Services. In this edition, T-Systems Brazil stood out for its participation in the Acelera 2018 project, developed by the manufacturer to stimulate the use of innovation to reduce costs and create sustainable solutions.

“We spent almost a year evaluating our offerings and achieved a 30% reduction in our contracts”, said Cintia Carvalho, Head of Mercedes-Benz account of Brazil. According to the executive, everything that could be automated was identified in a processes review.

“On the other hand, we negotiated with Mercedes the flexibility of some service level agreements. Therefore, we have reached a positive outcome for both sides”, she says. In practice, the reduction came from the use of innovation, automation and the replacement of concepts and business models that no longer make sense.

At the award ceremony, T-Systems was represented by Luz Mauch, Senior Global Vice President for the Automotive Industry. “The award we received from Mercedes-Benz, and the reason we received it, only strengthens our commitment to helping our customers make digital transformation a reality in their business”, he says.

The Award

"Prêmio Interação” is made by Mercedes-Benz of Brazil, which honors the partners that work together with the company and have stood out in the last 12 months. The effort is part of a program that can be useful and effective with the help of its partners, through mutual industry help, and presents its products with expertise, technique and ideas of the best suppliers.

In the choice of the winners, the manufacturer bets on transparency and credibility in the data analysis. One of the improvements introduced in the evaluation methodology was the implementation of a Permanent Technical Committee, with representatives from all the areas involved. With this, at any time of the year, the supplier knows whom to address in order to clarify the punctuation criteria, to forward provisions or to follow the progress of its participation.

For suppliers of indirect material and service providers (participants who compete in the category that T-Systems won), other specific criteria are applied. The areas involved evaluate the performance of suppliers in the internal evaluation system L@RS, also used globally by Daimler.
