Today, the Internet is THE medium for information and education. The Deutsche Telekom project Telekom@School provides free Internet connections to help ensure that school IT infrastructures remain up to date. And now with even more bandwidth!

For successful participation in the information and knowledge society, it is necessary to be familiar with using digital media confidently. Deutsche Telekom wants to give all children and young people a chance to obtain these skills, independent of their family background.

Within the framework of this Telekom@School infrastructure project, Deutsche Telekom has supported all 34,000 general and vocational schools throughout Germany with free Internet access since the year 2000. Inbetween, 30,000 of these schools already have DSL broadband connections. These connections are currently being upgraded to up to 16 megabits per second and will continue to be offered free of charge.

Within this Telekom@School project, schools have now the option to order a VDSL-based connection at a considerably reduced prices, wherever VDSL is available.
