Corporate Responsibility

Deutsche Telekom has expanded its management in the corporate responsibility area. All CR activities are now coordinated uniformly, internationally and Group-wide.

CR management is supported by many different areas at Deutsche Telekom. From the Board of Management down to the individual departments, the entire Telekom Group is working on the further development and execution of our CR strategy. Two particularly important areas are the CR Board and the CR department.

Strategy and objectives: CR Board
The CR Board debates and defines the main focuses and further development of our CR strategy. Its members are the heads of the Group departments of Procurement, Technology, Policy and Regulation, and HR / Diversity; the CEO's office, the Support Office for the Europe Board department, Brand Management, the Telekom Foundation and Communications. This broad staffing guarantees that the CR strategy harmonizes with our Group and brand strategies.

Management and coordination: CR department
The CR department is the interface to all departments where CR is a factor. It coordinates and manages the implementation of CR strategy in day-to-day business operations - in all business areas and international companies. The CR department works closely with Group Procurement, for example, to ensure proper execution of our sustainable procurement strategy.

International exchange of expertise
The CR managers at Deutsche Telekom gather regularly for international talks at live meetings or web conferences. At these gatherings, they exchange their experiences with current activities and find out about the status of executing CR strategy and KPIs.

The managers work in teams to design and implement Group-wide projects - cell phone return programs, for example, and the development of Group-wide climate protection targets. As part of these meetings, the members of the CR manager network inform themselves about best practices and the latest developments.
