Deutsche Telekom changes management structure

Lothar Pauly to head the areas of Networks, IT and Purchasing - Rene Obermann to lead Points of Sales in Germany with immediate effect - Kai-Uwe Ricke to head central brand-management and also take responsibility for the areas of advertising budgets, media planning and media coordination in Germany - the operational responsibility of the three strategic business areas T-Com , T-Mobile and T-Systems worldwide remain unchanged - reaction to fast-changing market With immediate effect Deutsche Telekom will integrate key functions centrally within the Board of Management. T-Systems CEO Lothar Pauly will head the areas Networks, IT and Purchasing worldwide, while T-Mobile CEO Rene Obermann will be responsible for Sales in Germany. Kai-Uwe Ricke will apart from the global brand-management also assume responsibility for advertising budgets, media planning and media coordination with immediate effect. The Supervisory Board made this decision after recommendations by Deutsche Telekom chairman of the Board of Management, Kai Uwe Ricke, at a strategy meeting.

"With our new strategic alignment we are emphasizing the need to strengthen the coordination of our activities in Germany. At the same time we must radically adjust our cost structures to the changing market conditions. This will happen whilst keeping the worldwide responsibilities of T-Mobile , T-Com and T-Systems intact", Kai-Uwe Ricke explained the objectives of the new strategic alignment.

Lothar Pauly will head the areas of Networks, IT and Purchasing worldwide. These areas include responsibility for efficiencies in costs and quality.

Points of Sales/T-Punkte and the management of Trading Partners as well as the coordination of various sales functions will be coordinated in Germany under the leadership of Rene Obermann.
