Deutsche Telekom’s Trends Forum at CeBIT 2008

Thinking beyond borders: mavericks, avant-gardists and entrepreneurs at Deutsche Telekom’s Trends Forum at CeBIT 2008

“Why IT is actually unimportant” is one of the controversial topics open for debate at Deutsche Telekom’s Trends Forum at CeBIT 2008. The program also includes a series of talks on the possibilities and opportunities of Web 2.0 in which various survival strategies dealing with the surplus of information are to be introduced.

At their stand in hall 26 at this year’s CeBIT, Deutsche Telekom AG will for the first time present the Trends Forum – an exclusive platform for innovative brains. 18 speakers, on par with the latest national and international knowhow, are going to discuss the company’s future in a world of ever changing IT and communication structures. In the scope of their talks, the speakers will view a wide range of topics such as digitization, Web 2.0 and Open Source from various perspectives, e.g. commercial, biological and social.

The guests at Deutsche Telekom’s Trends Forum will be treated to talks from authors such as designer and computer scientist John Maeda from the United States, entrepreneurs such as Tyler Brûlé from Canada, founder of the global lifestyle magazine Wallpaper, and avant-gardists such as Swedish business guru Kjell Nordström. Of course, among the other personalities who will be present are: Nicholas Carr, Sascha Lobo, Don Tapscott, Axel Thallemer, Alexander Artope and Gerhard Roth.

“With the Trends Forum we are creating opportunities for tomorrow’s innovations. In addition, we’ll be able to give users and everyone who is interested the chance to have a look into the visions of today’s leading minds, something you don’t get to see every day”, explains Hans Christian Schwingen, Deutsche Telekom’s Head of Marketing Strategy and Marketing Communications, while describing the new series of events.

A large on-stage LED wall and the so-called Lifecycle LED Ring guarantee that a visit to the Trends Forum is definitely going to be a spectacular media experience.

Sven Oswald and Daniel Finger are going to be the moderators of the Trends Forum. For several years now, the two have been presenting the extremely successful radio eins multimedia show “Escape”, a format for network, hardware and software news.
